Description
Peter Lillie Outside Catering Service was started in 1986 by Andrew Lillie. After helping Uncle Andrew out with the business on weekends and during school holidays, Catherine Lillie knew that a career in catering was beckoning.

After studying catering and hospitality at Yorkshire Coast College at Scarborough, including work placement in France, and working in hotels and restaurants she took over the family catering company in 1999. Originally the business was based in Guisborough, sharing premises with the family butchers shop.

The business grew rapidly and Ben Adamson joined Catherine in 2000. Ben and Catherine married in 2003. The continued success of the company and expansion of 'Lillie's Gourmet Sandwiches' meant that 2004 saw the partnership re-locate to larger premises at The TAD Centre in Middlesbrough, by now running a permanent staff of 6. In 2005 the business acquired premises for a café within the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum, near Redcar. Following refurbishment the café opened in winter 2005. The company now employs 24 staff with Catherine and Ben still enjoying the overall running. What’s next? ......Watch this space!
