Description
Hubbub was opened in 1999 with a simple aim - to provide good food and drink at reasonable prices in a comfortable, stylish setting.

Our home, The Space, is one of the true architectural wonders of east London. Built in 1859 its history is intertwined with the age of the great steamships - providing a place of worship for the shipyard workers who built "The Great Eastern" in nearby Burrells Wharf.

Saved from dereliction by English Heritage it is now home to Docklands premier community arts center whose performers have ranged from Sir Ian McKellen to Harry Hill. The intimate atmosphere of the old rectory provides the setting for "Hubbub".

In designing hubbub we have sought to build on the inherent character of the building- polished wooden floors, exposed brick walls, arched windows - whilst adding our own individual touches.

A traditional red phone box now doubles as a greenhouse in our courtyard, a goldfish tank provides the entertainment for a relaxing sunday afternoon spent lounging on the leather sofa, the worn copper bar top bears the marks of many an evenings entertainment. The walls of the bar double as a gallery for local artists to exhibit their works.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing brunch reading the papers and playing board games or the hubbub of a friday night, we can provide it.
